Return Policy

Any damaged or missing items should be reported to us as soon as possible.

A return must be approved prior to returning the product in order to receive credit (terms of credit & returns are specified below). For some products sales are final, for example, tinted paint or special order items, flooring, custom rugs, carpeting etc… for which no returns are allowed. Please contact us prior to purchase for information if you have concerns regarding your order.

SAMPLES, TINTED PAINT, SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS, AND CLEARANCE ARE NON-RETURNABLE. Please see below for full return policy.

The item must be in original condition, unopened and returned within 30 days of receipt.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF SERVING THE CHEMICALLY SENSITIVE AND IMMUNOSUPPRESSED, WE CANNOT ACCEPT RETURNS PAST 30 DAYS FROM RECEIPT. We must insure that upon resale that the product is in sound, unadulterated condition. We cannot ensure that to our customers when it’s been offsite for more than 30 days.

When exceptions must be made at our discretionmaterial returned after 30 days will be assessed a restock fee depending on the type of product and speed of return, provided it is in re-saleable condition, excluding special order items (read below).

Large freight orders such as pallet shipments of flooring MAY be returnable at the manufacturer’s discretion and policies. Sometimes policies include customer paying return freight, restock fees, and other terms & conditions we do not control. To inquire about a specific manufacturer’s return policies and procedures, please email info@thegreendesigncenter.com and we’ll be able to help you.

HIGH VALUE ORDERS THAT CANCEL PRIOR TO SHIPMENT: Please note that with every credit card payment we are assessed 3% non refundable transaction fees by the processors. Conditionally, that fee may be deducted from your refund. Please make sure to ask all questions you might have prior to placing a large online order to avoid such fees.

INCLUDEs ANYTHING WE DO NOT STOCK FOR EXAMPLE FLOORING, TILE, WALL COVERINGS, CARPET, RUGS, BEDS ETC…

Special order items are “made to order” or “custom cut” etc… and cannot be returned or canceled once in production. Even if not produced for a custom quote, some products cannot be returned or resold. This is almost always dictated by the manufacturer and not our policy. If you have concerns please contact us.

Please let us know as soon as you can if you wish to cancel an order. Unless your order has already shipped, in most cases we will be able to accommodate prompt requests. Please email and/or call.

On certain orders that you wish to cancel such as high volume, made to order, or orders placed upon sell, we will assess a 3% credit card refund fee that is charged by the credit card companies to us. This is non refundable. Thank you for understanding.

Due to the nature of what we do, who we are,
and the customers we serve, our return policy may seem strict.

Sometimes return restrictions exist based on manufacturer which we cannot control. We’re also very concerned about our clients and the products they receive. In any event, this is to ensure your quality of satisfaction and to provide the highest available service to our chemically sensitive, immunosuppressed, and chemically conscious customers.  We’re always willing to work with you to the best of our ability to ensure the best outcome for you, your project, and your home.
